I don’t think men and women are losing their lives fighting for our freedom. That’s propaganda told to make soldiers feel noble when they’re risking their lives. As far as I can tell, wars exist to line the pockets of certain corporations or to gain economic advantages for certain corporations. Some psychologists think that it’s also a way for old men to get rid of young men so that there’s less competition for the best women. The last war that was fought for freedom was WWII. And our help was appreciated greatly. There have been wars in other countries than the USA that have been fought for their freedom. As for hate in this country (presumably you mean the US?), it’s happened because censorship or infringing on First Amendment rights of the press is illegal. News programs can say whatever they want in the form of an editorial. We used to have a Fairness Doctrine which required media to present both sides’ opinions in the rare event they weren’t just reporting straight news. News programs no longer have to do that. The super wealthy want the US to go back to elite rule. Right now they are disenfranchising people of color and women. But once they have that sewn up, they’ll go after poor men. The end goal is rule by the extremely wealthy. The way they are doing this is by distracting us and getting us terribly upset about things other than what we should be worried about. We should be worried about the US government serving the rich and corporations instead of the people. We should be worried about economic systems under which people can’t survive much less thrive. It works like magic, by distracting our attention away from what is happening. By fomenting hate.
