I realise my answer has a fairly derogatory attitude toward the South Carolina Gamecocks 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball National Champions 38 – 0 Perfection shirt Besides,I will do this USA. I make no apologies as this is based on my own personal experience living in both countries. The first thing that comes to mind is probably not tipping at a restaurant, in the UK its not that big of a deal. One more thing which doesn’t really come under being rude but is more of a no-no is asking directions from a policeman and having a casual chat. Not a good idea. I honestly can’t think of anything else. There’s probably a lot more if you reverse the question to be honest. One example is how Americans will say “how are you?” as a greeting and not even listen to the answer, sometimes even walking right past and ignoring the response. Also a lot of Americans don’t use please and thank you as much, especially when ordering food and drinks. In general, people from the UK are polite and unlikely to be seen as rude by Americans. There are circumstances where people from the UK would be more formal than Americans, but that would be seen as aloof rather than rude. One exception may be service workers in places like restaurants and retail establishments, where the standard in the UK would be considered unacceptable in the US. (It’s not just because of restaurant tipping in the US, because retail workers aren’t usually tipped, but they are trained to be outgoing and friendly.)
