Official Baby Stitch and Mickey Mouse McDonald’s friends shirt

As a lifelong libertarian, I am supposed to be opposed to socialized medicine and/or a mandate to carry health insurance on general principle, but it makes sense in the Baby Stitch and Mickey Mouse McDonald’s friends shirt in contrast I will get this context of emergency room care. That is to say, anyone can walk into an emergency room anywhere in the United States and expect treatment to stabilize them, whether or not they have insurance or the ability to pay. Those of us who have insurance or the ability to pay end up subsidizing the healthcare of these indigent patients. Offering government-sponsored Medicare or Medicaud for all who want it and/or do not choose another plan would go a long way towards remedying this inequity. I am Dutch and currently living in Japan. In the Netherlands, the health insurance laws were set up so that if there’s an emergency, I get care. The one time I had to make use of it, the hospital accomodated me within a week and everything was paid for by the health insurance. Now, it should be noted that the quality of the health insurance has decreased a lot since when I was a teenager, but even while being far from perfect it’s far better than the system in the US. At the very least I didn’t have to worry that my little visit to the hospital would put me in bills for the rest of my life.
